Special Kids Crusade’s February IEP Lab!We have another exciting IEP Lab approaching on February 20th. The first IEP lab, held in January, was a huge success and parents left with smiles, feeling enlightened!Despite the various ages of the children all parents found similar concerns.Parents created long-term visions for their children and developed a new focus for their next IEP.
The February Lab will consist of 3 new topics:
1. “What’s in my backyard- What is SELPA?” Meeting the experts at SELPA (9:30-11:30am)
2. “Should this goal be on the IEP?” Determining which goals belong on the IEP (9-10am)
3. “I’m a big kid now!” Preparing for the transition of IFSP to IEP (11am-12pm)
SELPA stands for Special Education Local Plan Area and their experts assist to ensure that each child receives a free and appropriate public education and related services. They are well-respected members of the special education community and offer consultation and support to those in need. SELPA experts specialize in: mild and moderate disabilities, communication disabilities, Autism, behavior intervention, emotional disabilities, low incidence, moderate and severe disabilities and can assist parents from all local districts.
Experts from Trumpet Behavioral Health will be providing assistance to parents for preparing for the transition from IFSP to IEP.
SELPA & Trumpet Behavioral Health will be great resources for many parents, so come out and meet the experts on Thursday February 20th from 9am -12pm!
